Cypher Stash Terms and Conditions

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Forgotten Quarry LLC ("Forgotten Quarry," "we," "our," or "us") governing your download, installation, access to, purchase of, and use of the Cypher Stash mobile application ("Cypher Stash" or the "App") and related support or website materials.

By downloading, installing, accessing, purchasing, or using Cypher Stash, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The terms of the store through which you obtained the App also apply.

1. Eligibility and Authority

You must be legally capable of entering this agreement. If you use Cypher Stash on behalf of a business or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You are responsible for complying with the laws and rules that apply to you, your device, and the information you store, browse, export, or share.

2. License to Use Cypher Stash

Subject to these Terms and applicable store rules, Forgotten Quarry grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Cypher Stash on devices you own or control for personal or authorized internal use. The App is licensed, not sold.

If you obtained Cypher Stash through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless a custom license agreement is displayed for the App in your region. These Terms supplement that agreement. Google Play terms also apply to copies obtained through Google Play. Applicable platform terms control if they conflict with these Terms.

3. Local Storage and Your Responsibilities

Cypher Stash is designed to keep vault content on your device. Forgotten Quarry does not operate a cloud-storage service for your vault and does not require a Cypher Stash cloud account. You choose whether and where to export, share, or back up information.

You are responsible for:

  • Securing your device, credentials, recovery information, exports, and backups;
  • Remembering the credentials needed to access protected content;
  • Confirming that backups can be restored before relying on them;
  • Protecting any temporarily exposed or exported copy after it leaves the App; and
  • Keeping independent copies of information you cannot afford to lose.

Forgotten Quarry generally cannot retrieve vault content or reset local credentials for you. Deleting the App, clearing its local data, losing a device, forgetting credentials, or using a destructive control may permanently remove access to locally stored content.

4. Security Limitations

Cypher Stash provides tools intended to help you separate private content, control access, and make deliberate sharing and recovery decisions. No application, device, storage method, or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

Cypher Stash does not make a device invulnerable, make internet activity anonymous, replace operating-system security, replace a VPN, or eliminate the need to protect credentials, exports, backups, and recipient devices. You remain responsible for deciding whether a feature and configuration are appropriate for your circumstances.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not:

  • Use the App to violate law or another person's privacy, safety, or rights;
  • Attempt to bypass subscription, licensing, access-control, or platform safeguards;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • Distribute malware, interfere with the App or related services, or test them without authorization;
  • Resell, sublicense, rent, or commercially redistribute the App without written permission; or
  • Use Forgotten Quarry names, marks, or materials in a misleading or unauthorized manner.

You are solely responsible for the content you place in the App and for having the rights and permissions necessary to store, export, or share it.

6. Features, Platforms, and Guidance

Features may vary by operating system, device capability, subscription level, store availability, and App version. Descriptions on our website and in training materials explain intended uses but do not promise that every feature is available on every device.

Quartermaster guidance, scenarios, documentation, and other educational material are general information. They are not legal, financial, safety, or professional advice and cannot evaluate your individual risk or threat model.

7. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing

Cypher Stash may offer free features, paid features, introductory offers, and auto-renewing subscriptions. The purchase screen presented by Apple App Store or Google Play is authoritative for the plan, included features, price, currency, billing period, trial or introductory-offer terms, eligibility, and renewal date applicable to your purchase.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account through the applicable store.
  • Auto-renewing subscriptions continue until canceled through that store.
  • A free or discounted trial may convert to a paid subscription unless canceled before the store's stated deadline.
  • Trial and introductory-offer eligibility is determined by the store and may be limited to eligible new subscribers.
  • Deleting Cypher Stash or deleting local vault content does not cancel a subscription.

We may change subscription features or request a price change. Any price change, notice, consent requirement, or right to cancel will be handled in accordance with applicable store rules and law. Continued access to paid features may require an active entitlement confirmed by the applicable store.

8. Managing or Canceling a Subscription

You must manage or cancel a subscription through the store account used to purchase it. Canceling stops future renewals but generally does not immediately end access already paid for.

Refunds, billing disputes, and restored purchases are handled under the policies of the store that processed the transaction and any rights provided by applicable law. Forgotten Quarry does not control Apple or Google's refund decisions.

9. Updates, Changes, and Availability

We may release updates, change or discontinue features, correct errors, respond to platform requirements, or stop supporting older operating systems or App versions. Updates may be required for continued compatibility, security, store-entitlement verification, or access to particular features.

We do not guarantee that the App, every feature, or related support will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We will not intentionally remove access to already-purchased functionality in a manner prohibited by applicable store rules or law.

10. Third-Party Services and Destinations

Cypher Stash may interact with app stores, device services, websites, storage locations, sharing destinations, VPNs, or other services that you choose. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Forgotten Quarry does not control and is not responsible for third-party availability, security, content, or handling of copies you send to them.

11. Privacy

Our Cypher Stash Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information, diagnostics, permissions, advertising measurement, retention, and privacy choices. Our Data Deletion page explains how to remove diagnostic data and locally stored vault data.

12. Ownership and Feedback

Cypher Stash, its software, design, documentation, branding, and related materials are owned by Forgotten Quarry or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

If you voluntarily provide suggestions or feedback, you permit us to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not claim ownership of your private vault content or personally identifying information contained in a support request.

13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. You must separately cancel any subscription to stop future renewals. Forgotten Quarry may suspend access to paid entitlements, updates, or related services if reasonably necessary to address fraud, unlawful use, material breach of these Terms, platform requirements, or security concerns.

Termination does not give Forgotten Quarry access to delete copies stored locally on your device. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and responsibility for prior use—will survive.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cypher Stash and related materials are provided "as is" and "as available." Forgotten Quarry disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that use of the App will prevent every loss, disclosure, compromise, deletion, or unauthorized access.

Some jurisdictions do not allow particular warranty exclusions. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights or warranties that apply to you by law.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Forgotten Quarry and its members, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, credentials, backups, revenue, profits, or business opportunity arising from or related to the App.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Forgotten Quarry's total liability arising from or related to Cypher Stash will not exceed the amount you paid for the App or its subscriptions during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where prohibited or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

16. Apple-Specific Acknowledgments

For a copy obtained through Apple's App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Forgotten Quarry, not Apple. Forgotten Quarry, not Apple, is responsible for the App and its support, subject to the Apple Standard EULA and applicable law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Cypher Stash.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the terms applicable to your licensed use of the App and may enforce those terms. You must also comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in Cypher Stash, subscriptions, platform requirements, law, or our business. The revised Terms will display a new Effective Date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice when reasonably required. Changes do not retroactively alter completed transactions unless law permits.

18. General Terms

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our written consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, reorganization, sale of assets, or operation of the App, subject to applicable law.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, applicable purchase disclosures, and applicable store license terms form the agreement governing your use of Cypher Stash. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence remain unaffected.
