Cypher Stash Data Deletion

Delete diagnostic data

Cypher Stash does not require an online account. To delete diagnostic data associated with the current app installation and stop future diagnostic collection:

  1. Open Cypher Stash.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Privacy & Diagnostics.
  4. Select Delete Diagnostic Data & Disable Collection.
  5. Confirm the deletion.

If you cannot access the App or need assistance, email rjohnson@forgottenquarry.com with the subject “Cypher Stash data deletion request.” Do not send passwords, vault files, recovery answers, or other sensitive vault information.

What the diagnostic deletion action does

  • Disables Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring collection.
  • Clears Cypher Stash's local support-diagnostics cache.
  • Deletes unsent Crashlytics reports stored by the App.
  • Resets the Firebase Analytics app-instance identifier.
  • Requests deletion of the current Firebase Installation ID.

If the Firebase Installation ID cannot be deleted immediately—for example, while the device is offline—the App records a pending deletion request and retries later while collection remains disabled.

What is kept

Deleting diagnostic data does not delete your locally stored vault, files, passwords, settings, subscription, or paid features. Cypher Stash does not send vault files, passwords, filenames, private-browser activity, or saved location-lock coordinates with diagnostic reports.

Forgotten Quarry does not maintain a Cypher Stash account or a database that links your name or email address to Firebase installation identifiers. Because of this, Forgotten Quarry may be unable to locate previously transmitted pseudonymous diagnostic records using your name or email address.

Retention after a deletion request

Data already transmitted may remain for the service provider's applicable retention or deletion period. Current configured or documented periods include:

  • Google Analytics user-level event retention: approximately two months.
  • Crashlytics crash reports and associated installation identifiers: generally 90 days before deletion begins.
  • Performance Monitoring IP-associated events: generally 30 days.
  • Performance Monitoring installation-associated or de-identified data: generally 60 days.
  • Deleted or reset Firebase identifiers may require additional time to be removed from live and backup systems.

Google Play may retain purchase and subscription records under its own legal obligations and retention policies. Forgotten Quarry does not control those platform records.

Delete locally stored vault data

Vault content is stored on your device. You can delete individual items within Cypher Stash. To remove all local App data, use your device's app-storage controls or uninstall Cypher Stash. This can permanently remove locally stored vault information.

Copies that you exported, shared, or backed up are not removed from destinations you selected. Delete those copies directly from each destination or ask the applicable recipient or service provider to delete them.
